Andy Somers brings details of the funeral for his late father, John Somers, a long-term friend and supporter – and former vice-president – of Minety Rugby Club:
The funeral is on Tuesday the 10th of November at midday at Holy Rood Church in Swindon, SN1 2LU. It will be followed by drinks and memories at The Beehive where he worked for the last 17 years. Rugby shirts may be worn in his honour, family flowers only. Any donations received will be divided between Macmillan, Marie Curie and the Prospect Foundation who cared for Dad and assisted Mum so selflessly in his final months. There will also be a celebration of Dad’s life at The Whole Hog in Malmesbury from 3pm on Saturday 21st November. This would have been Dad’s 70th birthday.”
