Minety RFC

Our extra man

without comments

Unapologetically, we make much of the players who don the Minety shirt and, to a lesser extent, the coaches and backroom staff, but on Saturday, and on many other occasions during the season, we have had an extra man to help us – Jack Glew.

Jack, youngest of the famous Glew clan, has run the line for us at a number of matches recently, allowing Andy Grayson, the Jurgen Klopp of Minety, to concentrate on tactics and plays without having to run up and down the touchline with a flag.  It will be some time before Jack is old enough to play for the senior team but he shows his commitment to the cause by attending most, if not all, of the 1st XV matches and is becoming a confident and reliable assistant referee when called upon.

On Saturday, Jack ran the line at Chippenham in freezing conditions, did his job with the minimum of fuss and helped us enormously.

Jack, we thank you for your efforts and hope that we can count on you for the run in to the end of the season.  Well done!
