Dorset & Wilts Division 3 North
Outnumbered!
Swindon 3rd XV 22pts – Minety 2nd XV 5pts
Swindon’s greater playing resources proved too much for Minety seconds in their final game of the season.
Minety travelled to Swindon with a 16 man squad but found their hosts, playing at home, with far more players at their disposal.
Swindon attacked positively in the first half and were 12 points ahead by the break, aided by some poor tackling from Minety.
The visitors fought back in the second half and eventually got on the score board thanks to a try from Ryan Dowling.
But while Minety began to tire, Swindon were able to bring on a raft of fresh players and press home their advantage in the closing stages of the game.
After the match, Minety second team manager Steve Murray commented, “That game summed our mixed season! It was another spirited performance from the lads. Some of the Swindon players commented that Minety ‘just don’t give up,’ which made us feel good. I would like to thank all of those who made an effort for us this season.”
