On Saturday 17th November Minety 1st XV will host Chippenham at Minety Fields (Ko 2.30pm) while Steve Wilson’s 2nd XV travel to Amesbury for D&W3 action.

Tom Claxton’s 1st XV will take to the pitch confident after wins over Calne, in the league, and Warminster, in the Vase Semi final. A victory on Saturday would help Minety keep in touch with the top of the table, where the top 4 teams face off against each other and points will be dropped.

Minety come up against a Chippenham team sitting in 9th place in the league with just one victory from their 7 league outings. Chippenham’s lone victory this season was at the unpredictable Pewsey Vale, where they emerged 43-35 victors but since then they have lost heavily at Combe Down and recently, at home, to the improving Melksham outfit.

Steve Wilson’s 2nd XV, struggling with numbers as I write this, will hope to travel to new D&W3 team Amesbury. The home team have won all 6 matches this season, only failing to gain a “4 try” bonus point in one match.

Minety’s 2nd XV sit in 6th place with 11 points but have lost half of their matches to concessions (once by Minety and twice by other teams). We all hope that 15 Minety players can take the pitch at Amesbury on Saturday.

Full match reports will be available on this site on Sunday.
