In the review of last weekend’s fixtures I alluded to the fact that although Minety and Trowbridge have identical results, Trowbridge have one more league point than Minety. Like many, I was perplexed (perplexed of Malmesbury!). It seems, however, that the shroud of confusion has been lifted by the industry of our 1st team captain, Tom Claxton. Tom has delved back into the results throughout the season and has found that Trowbridge benefited from a Home Walkover in their match against Pewsey and it is the extra point that they gleaned from that result, which does not show up in the raw data of the league table, that accounts for the difference.
And to think, we may have been on the cusp of a sequel!
