Saturday 5th December

After the euphoria of last weekend’s Vase Final victory, it’s back to league action for both the 1st XV, at home to Supermarine, and the 2nd XV, away at Melksham.

Supermarine travel to Minety Fields with six league wins out of their eight matches. Averaging 35 points per fixture in the league whilst conceding 15 points, they lie 2nd in the table, four points ahead of Minety but having played one more fixture. Beaten at home by top of the table Coombe Down and away at Corsham, Supermarine’s only other defeat came in the Vase quarter final at Minety, where the home team won by 37 -12.

The 2nd XV’s opponents find themselves just one place off the bottom of D&W3 North, with 5 points garnered from two wins from seven fixtures. Their two victories were against bottom of the table Supermarine IIIs and, surprisingly, Alfred’s Nomads, who lie third in the table.  Boosted by their tremendous win against Westbury in their last league outing, the IIs will be looking for a win to boost their position near the top of the table.

Both sets of matches are scheduled to kick off at 2pm.
