Minety’s player shortage grew even more acute this weekend as a combination of injuries and non-availability meant that we had insufficient players to field two senior sides. In the end, we had to cancel the second team fixture against Trowbridge thirds and combine our limited resources into one team to take on Avonvale.

It was a scratch side and lots of people had to play out of position, but they put in a brilliant effort in appalling conditions to gain a 7-24 away win. Details of the game are now in the Match Reports section.

(For a view of the Avonvale main pitch completely under water, have a look at the This is Somerset website!)

News has just come in of fresh disasters on the skittle alley when Minety RFC took on the MPFA Committee… See the Skittles Results & Reports section for details.

Minety’s next games are at home on Saturday 8 December, when the firsts are due to play Pewsey Vale and the seconds play hosts to Colerne. Kick-offs: 2.30 pm.
