Both Minety teams will be playing their final matches of 2015 at home on Saturday 19th December.
The 1st XV face Colerne in Dorset and Wilts Division 1 North action whilst the 2nd XV take on Supermarine II’s in D&W 3 North with both games kicking of at 2.15pm at Minety Fields.
Colerne have endured a troubled first half to the season and sit at the bottom of D&W 1 North (ignoring Fairford, who withdrew from the league at the start of the season). With just one win, at the end of October against Trowbridge, Colerne have been on the wrong end of some fairly hefty beatings including a 130-0 defeat at the hands of top of the table Combe Down in November. Minety 1st XV will be looking to pile on the points in this fixture to help them pull clear of 3rd place Melksham and 4th placed Wootton Bassett.
Minety 2nds take on a Supermarine II team that has also had a difficult first half to the season. In 10th place, with just a single win under their belts, the visitors will be looking to pull back points on the teams above them. By contrast, Minety 2nds will be seeking a good win to help them put some breathing space between themselves, in 3rd place in D&W3N, and the chasing pack, including Swindon III, Alfred’s Nomads and Warminster II’s.
These matches are the final league fixtures of 2015. The next action for Minety will be the 1st XV against Gosford All Blacks in the National Championships at Minety on Saturday 2nd January 2016.
