Saturday 17 April – last league games of the season

It was almost the perfect day.

Ken organised, and JB and Wendy prepared, a terrific lunch for the Friends of Minety Rugby Club. The sun shone and we had a great game of rugby with plenty of running and passing and nine really good tries. Minety even managed to score four of them. Unfortunately, Tadley scored the other five and beat us 24-38.

Full details of Minety v Tadley and the second XV’s defeat away against Devizes seconds are now available in the Match Reports section, though Nigel still has to add some photographs to the report on the Tadley game. In the mean time, here’s Andrew “Nocky” Cook’s photograph of winger Andy Troughton’s try against Tadley.

Next Saturday, 24 April 2010, Minety Seconds play their semi-final of the Stroud Combination Junior Cup (I think that’s what it’s called!) at home against Dursley seconds. It should be another good game. Do come along. The kick-off is at 3 pm.
