Saturday 10 March 2012

Both Minety’s senior teams played away from home on Saturday, and, sadly, both were beaten.

Minety firsts showed terrific attacking flare but woeful tactical naivety at Bradford-on-Avon, where they lost by a single point, 21-20. Details now in the Match Report section, along with some photographs. As usual, further photographs of the game have been posted on Minety’s Facebook page.

Minety seconds were well beaten 43-13 by Supermarine II. The press officer will post a report when Steve Murray lets him know how it happened!

…But here for the moment is a photograph of Minety’s squad in training this week at our excellent new indoor training facility. Minety train every Tuesday. Meet up at the playing fields at 6.45 pm.

The committee are due to meet on Tuesday night, 13 March.

And, finally, for anyone who likes reality documentaries or has a morbid curiosity to know what the Press Officer gets up to when he’s not watching rugby, he is heavily featured (and we use the term advisedly) in BBC2’s “Reverse Missionaries” at 9 pm on Friday night, 16 March.

There are no fixtures scheduled for us this Saturday, 17 March. Our next games are on Saturday 24 March, when the firsts play hosts to Calne and the seconds welcome Devizes III to Minety.
