Pitch Updates – Tuesday 18th

Brett King and his team have continued with their work on the Minety pitches into a second day and the results are quite startling.

The sand is loaded into a hopper and then deposited carefully into the fissures, filling them right to the surface and leaving a small exscess on the surface.  The next stage is to push the sand down into the fissure and pull excess sand from around the fissure in and over it.  A tractor is then driven over the sand and the sand compacted into the fissure.

As of training on Tuesday evening (very well attended) the main MPFA pitch has been completed and work has started on the two Minety RFC pitches in the adjoining field.
