Minety Academy Squad
The Academy squad lost their Cup Final to Chippenham on Sunday, but a comment, posted on Facebook, by one of their coaches, says much for their commitment and bodes well for the future of the whole club.
Dorian James wrote : “To the squad today. You played the best drilled side this season and whilst the score line doesn’t reflect it – your performance today epitomises the grit, determination, team work and sportsmanship that makes rugby the great sport that we all enjoy. Their coaches and club chairman spoke to me afterwards stating that the above attributes impressed all that saw the match. For those that move on to senior rugby keep these skills that you have built up during your time playing at Minety. Those that continue playing in the Academy squad next year (and the year after for some) keep going – you all played exceptionally well today and throughout the season!! Above all – remember the good times, all those tries scored from the 50m put (especially front row…), and continue to enjoy playing the best sport over the next 20-30 years!!!! It’s been an absolute privilege to have known you all.”
Congratulations to every squad member of the Minety Academy team – you have done yourselves and your club proud.
