Jacamo Player of the Month for December

After a close review of matches and training over the course of December, coach Richard Hall and captain Andrew Hibbard have named young fly half Tom McAllister as their “Jacamo” sponsored  Player of the Month.

Tom follows Tom Claxton (September), Steve Brown (October) and Ben Collins (November) as a recipient of the £50 worth of Jacamo clothing from their website.

The award is made for the player who, in the estimation of the management of the 1st XV, has made the most notable contribution in both matches and training during that month.  In making the award to Tom, Andrew Hibbard said, “Tom’s really stepped up to the mark this year and has made the position of fly half his own.  He’s still a very young player but we have been able to see how quickly his reading of the game has progressed in such a relatively short time.  He is a regular at training and we’re delighted to make the award to him.  In the end it was a choice between Tom and winger David Cooke but we felt that Tom just shaded it. ”

Tom was more than pleased when the award was announced last week.  “It’s great to be recognised in this way and I’ll be looking through the Jacamo website in the next few days to see what is on offer.”

Club coach Richard Hall was full of praise for the 4 month sponsorship from Jacamo, which ended at the end of December.  “It’s great that the lads have had this as a motivator, not only to put that little bit extra in during matches but also to commit to all of the training sessions.  I hope that we can negotiate a similar deal next year with Jacamo and would like to think that we can maintain the “Player of the Month” awards with another sponsor for the rest of this season.  If anyone has any contacts, please let us know.”
