Even though the 1st XV weren’t playing this weekend, the fixtures for this, the penultimate round of fixtures in the 2016 / 7 campaign make for interesting reading as far as Minety are concerned.
Pewsey’s fine away win at Swindon means that Minety cannot overhaul them (the two teams come up against each other at Pewsey in the final round of matches on the 22nd April) but Wootton Bassett’s inability to field a team for their match against high flying Warminster means that Minety are clear favourites to retain 6th place at the conclusion of the season.
If Minety take a single league point from their game at Pewsey then Bassett will have to score 4 tries and register well over 100 points in their game to overcome their points scored deficit.
