Living memory

In a move which has stunned visitors to this website into new depths of apathy, former club secretary Andy Edwards (back row, third from right) has challenged the Press Officer’s assertion that Minety won the Sevens “for the first time in living memory” this year.

Producing the accompanying photograph as evidence to prove his case, Edwards has demonstrated that a Minety sevens team did in fact win the tournament back in 2006, beating Cricklade in the final.

The Press Officer, who is reportedly in hiding somewhere on The Moor, was unavailable for comment when we tried to contact him earlier today, but a spokesperson for the Minety RFC Press, Website and Publicity Division is on record as saying, “Nigel’s version isn’t true, but it makes a better story.”

History will decide.
