Following the sad death of our long-term club member and sponsor, former 2nd XV captain and fly-half Dominic Rice, Tim Vaughan has arranged to buy a memorial paving stone in Dominic's memory which will  form part of a permanent walkway at Twickenham. Have a read below of what he is planning to do and if you would like to contribute to the cost you'll find details of how to do so listed at the end. The stone has to be ordered by 28th June so time is of the essence.

Dear Friends of Minety Rugby Club,

I am organising for a stone to be laid at Twickenham with Dominic Rice’s name on.

I have spoken to Brendon and to Dom’s business partner Mark who both really like the idea.

It will be part of a path known as the ‘Walk of Legends’.

Here is a little bit more information:

“As part of the Twickenham South Stand development a very special walkway is being laid to celebrate the passion and pride shared by England rugby fans all around the world. Running from the new South Stand past the famous Lion Gate to extend around the ground, the public walkway will be divided into quadrants, each with its own famous England rugby player as a centre stone.”

More information can be obtained from the RFU website at:
     http://www.rfu.com/walkoflegends/index.cfm?Fuseaction=home.about

The stone I will be getting is shown below:

England Rose StoneEngland Rose Stone
Legends Grey - Black Lettering, 300mm x 300mm
Two lines of 14 characters per line. Cost = £250.00 GBP

The inscription will read:

     Dominic Rice
     A True Legend

There is no obligation but I thought I would give people the opportunity to contribute to what I think is a fitting tribute to Dom.

If you would like to take part can you send your contribution by cheque, payable to me as detailed below, by Wednesday 25th June. Any additional money will go towards the new season’s shirts which will have Dom’s initials on.

In the mean time, we will keep the book of remembrance open until the end of June.

Dominic's brother Brendon writes, "Please keep the Remembrance Book comments coming, it really is helping all our family."
