Despite the fact that both Minety sides were without league fixtures this weekend, there was action elsewhere around in both Dorset and Wilts 1N and 3N.

In Division1 North Pewsey Vale lost out on an opportunity to close the gaps to Warminster and Minety at the top of the table.

The loss to Avonvale keeps Pewsey 12 points behind Warminster and 14 behind Minety.  Avonvale keep up their excellent run and move above Combe Down, although the latter have two matches in hand.  Minety 1st XV return to action on Saturday with an encounter with table topping Bradford on Avon, keen to put the memory of the defeat at Combe Down a week ago well and truly behind them.  The last time the two teams met Bradford emerged narrow winners and the Bradford coach admitted that they had been pushed as hard by Minety as anyone this season.

In the other match, Supermarine’s win took them up to 8th place in the league table, Melksham remaining just two places off the bottom.

In the only fixture in Division 3 North, Corsham maintained their unbeaten record with a crushing 66-0 victory over Bath Saracens.
