First win for seconds

Nationwide 12pts - Minety 2nd XV 17pts

Minety seconds chalked up their first win of the season with three tries away against Nationwide.

Nationwide proved excellent hosts and lively opponents in this Sunday friendly down in Swindon. The home team amassed a total of 12 points but Minety outdid them, their first score coming from winger Oli Bown, who showed excellent pace as he beat all opponents on the run in for his try.

Lock forward Marco Zuliani got Minety's second, picking up from a ruck and driving for the line. A successful conversion kick turned this score into a seven-pointer.

The visitors' final try came from versatile forward Kai Engiel, this week playing at hooker. Sharp as ever, his sniping run from the base of a ruck sent him crashing over the try line to secure a well-deserved win for Minety.

This Saturday, Minety seconds play away in the league against the Devizes third XV.
